Wrong. Arum did... with his schemes. Was Pacquiao or Bradley involved with Abril-Rios? But then you can make the argument that Arum wasn't involved with Lara-Williams.

I didn't either (I'm gonna investigate further when I get time tomorrow).

I absolutely appreciate what he is doing because only someone who is a true boxing fan would try to instigate change in something which so many people have given up on.

Besides Arum, which other promoters are thriving?

DiBella and Shaw either lose their fighters to TR or hang around begging them for fights which aren't going to happen.

GBP are still a fledgling outfit prone to making mistakes, and can't get f-cking TR to deal with them, even when Oscar has had to apologise to Arum.

The better the sport is run, the better everyone benefits in the long-term. The current model is not sustainable.

If Oscar/Shaeffer are smart, they'll truly get behind this. They need to capitalise on Arum's stock being so incredibly low with boxing fans, and need to market themselves as the anti-thesis to Arum.

This is long overdue and it's a shame that it hasn't been brought up until the popular fighter that everybody loves got the bad end of the deal. I guess that's what it takes to get people to notice.

And this is good news, don't get me wrong, but laws are made to be broke. I believe this law was singed back in 2000.

But this law has already been signed:

The Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act
Many boxers are uneducated and come from poor economic backgrounds. Because of that, it was easy for unethical promoters, managers and sanctioning commissions to take advantage of them. The Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act requires the Association of Boxing Commissions to develop minimum provisions that must be included in all boxing contracts and fight agreements. Coercive contracts are banned, and boxers can no longer be forced to grant future promotional rights as a requirement for being allowed to compete in a mandatory bout. The law also puts a one-year limit on the length of a contract between a promoter and a boxer, and calls for sanctioning organizations to develop credible ways to rate professional boxers. In addition, it attempts to restrict anti-competitive business practices--and requires more financial disclosures to state athletic commissions.

How is it that Arum has Manny signed for 3 more years?

The influence and power of current and future Bob Arum's and Don King's is what needs fixing. It starts at the top. Don't promoters pay the judges, referees and fighters? That's crazy when you think about it.

The existence of government commissions at any level is the primary reason behind bad decisions, lack of progress, and the continued distrust of the casual fan.

The entire system needs to be chucked out and rebuilt from the ground up. There has been so much progress in non-combat sports over the years in regards to rules and replays, and none of them have a government commission, and it's not a coincidence.

                    i'm for it, just not down with those two c* o* c* k* s* u* c* k* e* r* s* pushing for it, reid and mccain, they're globalist s*c*u*m* to the core.......

I like how they are all concerned about boxing but sign the NDAA bill and Renew the Patriot Act...... sign off and allow Drone Bombings, Illegal Wars, banker bailouts, the destruction of the Constitution, they support torture and guantanamo bay prison still being open and support for PROFIT PRISONS....... amongst a myriad of other ****ed up things.

but they want to make sure boxers don't do drugs and the scoring is fair and square, how nice, yet they **** over people all over the globe, classic.

there must be big money in it for them and their families for them to be pushing for this, this hard.

let me make this REAL CLEAR, THESE FANOOCHES DON'T CARE ABOUT NO ONE OTHER THAN THEIR OWN AND THEIR POCKETS!!!!

it's a good idea, but don't let them make an Appeal to your Emotions...... because that is what they're doing. it almost makes me think the pac vs bradley fight was a set up for this, a major star gets screwed, so NOW THEY WANT TO TAKE ACTION, but for all the others no one cares or is as emotional as everyone else is about the Pac fight....... the Abril fight was more of a robbery..... Emmanuel Augustus has a ton of **** jobs against him, no outcry there! this looks like the Hegelian Dialectic in action if you ask me, pacquiao's behavior and his corners behavior after then fight, how calm and non caring they were, speaks volumes now if it were true to being a set up.....

                    look, think, ask questions.........

This should be good. But please don't let Arum, Schaefer, Warren or any other blood-sucking promoter get a seat in this commission.
