The hometown advantages were all in place from ring size to glove weights. Who knows what else, like a soft mat and loose ropes, blind judges? All this and drugs too? Poor Andy never had a chance, considering he wasn't that good to begin with (he lost to a very ordinary Vera). Jr had all the advantages from the start, and I'm sure there were other tricks still waiting in case Andy was competative. Jr didn't invent them, but he's wearing them out. I can't wait till it's his turn in the barrel.

Steward is getting Sen John McCain involved I guarantee he will add mandatory random blood testing to the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act (To reform unfair and anticompetitive practices in the professional boxing industry.) which he went to alot of effort to pass in 1999

Heres an old article while it was still being denied and to give you more of an idea on his views on boxing...

Statement on the Senate's Failure to Bring the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act to a Vote

      November 19, 1999
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Senator John McCain (R-AZ), Chairman of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, today made the following statement on the Senate's failure to bring the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act to a vote:

"It is extremely unfortunate that after three years of close consultation with boxers, state athletic officials, a bipartisan coalition of state attorneys general, two votes of passage in the Senate, and passage in the House, the Senate failed to bring the Ali Act to a final vote. Two unnamed ********ic Senators have used arcane Senate rules to stop this bill for now. Boxing fans everywhere should be appalled. And I plan to make passage of this bill a top priority next year.

"The boxing industry is in a crisis and the Ali Act would have provided urgently needed reforms such as limiting coercive option contracts, establishing fair business practice guidelines for rating organizations, and requiring key financial disclosures on promoters and organizations of major boxing events. These provisions would benefit every boxer who steps into a ring in America.

"I want to thank Senator Richard Bryan of Nevada and Muhammad Ali and his wife for their hard work over the years. We will fight for passage next year in order to restore integrity to the boxing industry for the athletes and the fans."

unfortunately, ring sizes will always accommodate the star fighter. if chavez jr. was a feather fisted bum instead of the roided bum he is now, the ring would've been the size of a football field.

I think this whole "Lee was ahead on the cards at the time of the stoppage" thing is all bs and a scheme to make Chavez Jr, Arum and Top Rank look less su****ious. Has anyone seen a picture of the cards? Even if there's a picture of them I wouldn't trust it. Also, we have seen how much the Texas Commission protects Chavez Jr so who's to say they won't tell Steward "yea sure he took the test" but he really didn't after all. Chavez Jr is a damn fraud and everyone else who is around him protecting him.

Let's be honest: If JCC JR wanted to fight in a phone booth with a chainsaw there wouldn't be a damn thing Emanuel Steward, Andy Lee, or the great state of Texas could do about it.

Because JCC JR calls the shots.
