thats bcuz martinez had to take the hard road to the top and fight his way up. he wasnt avoiding anyone, he was the one being avoided. he wasnt given a paper title to defend against easy oposition and he wasnt making good money.

martinez got pushed aside from the big fights he wanted so dont make it sound like he chose not to make any money, win any belts or gain any recognition fighting those guys.

meanwhile chavez fought those same kind of guys and got money, recognition and a title all bcuz of his name and bob arum. two very diffrent situations.

Exactly, apples/oranges, Jr.'s career is about as artificially manufactured as you can get. He's been protected from the start because of his last name, and lmao at how long they kept letting him wear the belt even as they kept insisting Martinez was the mandatory.

This has actually become a better fight than 18-24 months ago, Jr has mature and looks really really big, Martinez is still Martinez but unless he KO Chavez he isn't going to get a decision.

Is Chavez Jr even going to take this fight? Something tells me he would rather seek a vacant title at 168.

it's gonna be a good fight as long as it lasts. im thinking chavez jr would pressure martinez ala-margarito. and because jr doesn't move & fight like dad, his face would be busted open by sergio, & the ref would stop the fight because jr's face is so bloody!

Martinez will beat Chavez, your giving credit to Chavez for beating a guy who lost on ESPN to Brian Vera, and was getting rocked by Craig McEwan before stopping a guy iv never heard of before or after his fight with Lee.

Are we forgetting that Lee was up on points.

War Martinez but fair play to Chavez this is his best win which is not saying much.
