I doubt these events happen on the same date. It's just bad for business, but on the other hand these are some egotistical bastards who probably like the idea of stealing away eachother's PPV steam, attendance, etc. I think Chavez-Martinez is definitely not only the more intriguing fight, but it's also more meaningful/important than that of an exhibition match between canelo-Ortiz.

Though not a proper middleweight, having today's weigh-ins the day before and not on the afternoon of the fight means Chavez can box in the 160 class. Junior is an underrated fighter anyway but coming in at baby cruiser will be the deciding factor when he meets and, yes, beats the favoured Martinez.
