    Tyson fought Douglas in 1990.
    Feb. 11 -- James Douglas, Tokyo, Japan, KO by 10. Dude was talking about 96. It was around 91 when they were supossed to fight, it was all set, then he went to prison.

      Lucky for you he got his ass kicked and thats all you have to live with the rest of your 'Tyson Nuthugging' life. News flash; Tyson couldn't beat Holyfield today. (ouch) Credit? What does he deserve credit for?

        Tyson fought a shot Evander in 1996. Everyone in the media was going on that Holyfield risks his life fighting Tyson and that Evander had lost ability. If Tyson couldn't beat a medically disadvataged Holyfield, i shudder to think what would have happend if Holyfield was in his prime!

              He was talking about a fight that was actually signed between Holyfield & Tyson, and they were scheduled to meet each other in the late months of 1991. What happened was Tyson tore some cartilage in his left rib cage area while training for the fight, and the fight was cancelled for the time being...Bert Cooper was called in as a replacement for Tyson in that title fight against Holyfield.

              Tyson then tried getting the **** trial postponed some, so he could reschedule the fight with Holyfield for early 1992, but the courts denied Mike's request and that was the end of that...at least until Holyfield & Tyson eventually did meet.

                  Whether Holyfield was or wasn't in the front row, it doesn't matter because he was signed/scheduled to face Tyson in late 1991. Look it up for yourself on the net, or here's a short quote from a Tyson bio;

                  "In October 1991, Tyson injures cartilage in left rib cage while training for fight with heavyweight champion, Evander Holyfield. The fight is called off after Marion Superior Court Judge Patricia J. Gifford denies motion to postpone the **** trial."

                    i want to know, how come Tyson didn't get a rematch against Douglas for the belt?

                    Did he already go to prison or was he screwed over out of his rematch?

                      I agree. People just hate Mike for the most part. Thats why Tyson used to have a shirt that said "loved by few, hated by many, feared by all."
