Comments Thread For: Vazquez Jr. vs. Marquez Confirmed, Aug 4 In Puerto Rico

By Jake Donovan - A recent announcement from PR Best Boxing Promotions confirmed a previous breaking news report from Boxingscene, that former champions Wilfredo Vazquez Jr and Rafael Marquez will meet August 4 at Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

The bout – which headlines an independent pay-per-view telecast – figures to be the latest entry in the rich tradition of memorable in-ring wars between Puerto Rico and Mexico.

“It’s all set,” promoter Peter Rivera confirmed in a statement. “On August 4 in Puerto Rico, Wilfredo Vázquez Jr. and Rafael Marquez will face for the WBO International title in Puerto Rico in another “war” between Puerto Rico and Mexico.” [Click Here To Read More]

Marquez is too old for this $h!t. I got Vasquez in a FOTY candidate.

Disagree with the "too old" comment. Definitely agree with the "FOTY" part!

What a shame, Marquez is becoming an elite gatekeeper now. Win or Lose, he better retire, no fighter would be the same after that trilogy with Vazquez.

Should be a great fight! Lets see what Marquez has left in the tank?

I pick Vazquez jr to win, Marquez doesn't have much left in the tank, hes not able to go to war. Vazquez at this point would overwhelm Marquez. Don't get me wrong Marquez is a warrior, if he was in he prime I'd would pick Marquez to come out on top.
