yeah so i guess we won't see that. just checked out that article with the k9 interview, he said either if he has a belt or the money is right he'd do it. i don't expect either one to happen since no titleholder will give lara a shot and it seems like showtime is fine having him fight who needs to and hbo might not be up for it. also, i can see alvarez trying to get him next so that opportunity might be gone if some other top LMW gets to him first.

did you see the williams/lara fight? that fight sealed the deal on whether paul williams was still an elite fighter or not. that's why saul alvarez chose him.

Errr P.Will wasn't completely done when he fought Lara. Now that Lara made him look silly or avg that's a different story. Williams showed that he could still fight when he fought Ishida. Now you may say who the fk is Ishida? Well, Ishida is the same guy who KO'ed Kirkland and made Pirog IMO look real avg. Yea Ishida isn't anything special but like I said, he made Pirog look real avg. And P.Will handled him rather easily. So yea, I wouldn't count Williams out vs Canelo completely. And that's coming from a Canelo fan and someone who doesn't really like Williams after the Lara robbery.

That's the only thing he has going for him and is probably trying to get a big fight for it. He most likely will, the Canelo fight.

Now GBP and WBC are in a real predicament since the old pervert Sulaiman made Canelo-Kirkland a mandatory, all to protect Canelo from Lara or Vanes because the #1 contender for Canelo's belt is no other than Lara, so I heard DeCubas was after GBP for That September date against Canelo, my guess that they paid step aside money to Lara + the Hernandez fight...

yeah maybe "still fight" is your keyword right there, i was talking about being elite or at the top of the division (as an actual threat to alvarez if they fought). williams wasn't hard to hit, especially with that left, i'm pretty sure alvarez would have landed at will if he chose to exchange (even if he's not a southpaw). williams does throw a lot of punches, but you honestly think he could have beaten alvarez over 12? trust me, there's a reason why team alvarez made that williams fight instead of facing lara (who beat him).
beating ishida doesn't prove anything, i don't get why you would think that. kirkland was obviously not at his best since he was fighting above his weight class, wasn't with ann wolfe (meaning not being conditioned/trained properly), and fought recently before heading into that fight. i think his fights before (julio,vera) and after (angulo,molina) are evidence of that (and trust me i'm not that much of a kirkland fan). regardless, making pirog look average means what as well? he's not that proven himself if you honestly think about it. what's his best win? jacobs or ishida? just cause there's people bragging about him on a site doesn't mean he's the real deal, he needs to prove it first against quality opposition. pirog also didn't look that great against maciel if i remember correctly. he's an elusive fighter but he's not edge-of-your-seat entertaining and completely dominating his opponents every second of every round.
