Comments Thread For: Donaire on Nishioka, Mares, Rigondeaux, Fighting Salido

Nonito “Filipino Flash” Donaire has relished his latest Northern California homecoming.

After spending his last training camp in Las Vegas, the San Leandro native returned to his familiar confines of the Undisputed Gym in San Carlos last month to prepare for his July 7 junior featherweight unification tilt against IBF champ Jeffrey Mathebula (26-3-2, 14 KOs) at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

I'm glad we're finally at a point where Donaire will say Rigondeaux's name.

Donaire can mention Rigo so-as-to not look like he's scared of him, but I highly doubt that Cameron Duncan will be mentioning the Cuban anytime soon. Even though Salido is bigger, I think they see him as just a little shopworn, and believe Donaire's length and fresher legs can keep him away from the Mexican's power.

Salido doesn't bring the boxing ability/speed/precision that Rigo brings to the table. It's easier to create a gameplan for Salido than it is for Rigo, which is why he'll probably never get into the ring with him.

Agreed... I still wouldn't mind Donaire-Salido because Salido has great stamina, and can change things with one punch. At this point I think it's about 65-35 that Donaire wins that one.

Donaire would pick mares over rigo any day. Simply because mares is a come forward fighter who doesn't have exceptional defense.

Coward picking up opponents to go up when you not finish on 122. Don't be so chicken and fight the real CHAMPION GUILLERMO EL CHACAL RIGONDEAUX.

Nonito chicken asian running away from the CHACAL RIGONDEAUX.

Idk man, Mares was boxing pretty good in those first rounds vs Morel till he finally got Morel into a brawl then it was ask come forward.

I dint think a fight with Salido is gonna happen. Salido said its hard for him to make 126 and he was gonna stay there for Gonzalez but Gonzalez is gonna fight someone else I think so Idk if Salido gonna stay at 126 much longer.

Anyway, looks like Donaire has been reading around the net all the criticism and now is talking about negotiations with Rigo failed before and that he wants to fight him. After he admitted himself that he didn't want to cause "he's too boring." Sorry Donaire but not everybody comes in the ring to showboat especially when you're fighting smaller guys.
