Alvarez to go belt-hunting and unify the division.

    Steve Kim‏@stevemaxboxing
Richard Schaefer made it clear that the goal with Canelo will be to go belt-hunting at 154 and unify the division #boxing

On his twitter, I'm guessing it came from the press conference after the fight.

I have a feeling we'll see Alvarez fight Bundrage and Trout this year, and than Cotto in May/June next year. That's fine by me if it happens like that.

Hey that's fine by me. Fight Trout and Bundrage in September and December, than fight Cotto in May/June next year in a huge fight. If he won those fights, I say let him fight Floyd.

How is it belt-hunting/unify and targeting Cotto if Cotto doesn't even have a belt?

Of course they want to fight Cotto, that's the best fight to be made there if he intends to fight Floyd.

But Cotto isn't fighting until November or December. In the meantime, I like that they are trying to unify with guys like Bundrage and Trout.

Good. It would mean he would have to face all the title holders.

No, Canelo-Mosley/Gomez was bulls**t to the fullest.

But if Alvarez fights Trout and Bundrage in his next two fights, how is that not good fights??? Bundrage has beaten Powell and Spinks, and would be a unification. Trout has beaten Lopez and Rodriguez, and would be a unification.

The Lara fight is NOT HAPPENING, and I'm the biggest Lara fan. Lara would have a better shot to get a big fight if he moves up to 160, none of those 154 lb guys will fight him except for maybe Molina.

it would be cool to see canelo unify the division...but i'd rather seem him fight some of the non-title holders like lara, cotto and kirkland.

Maan. Lara got greedy. He should of went after that Bundrage belt ASAP. Then he would be in the picture. Unification goes through him.
