Would Hopkins Have Beaten Taylor Fighting On The Inside?

B-Hop knew before the fight he couldn`t outjab Taylor. He also knew that even if every straight right he threw landed the judges may not have got the decision. He had also identified Taylor`s weaknesses as inexperience, lack of control and "fighting like an amateur". We all know B-Hop can fight on the inside, so why didn`t he? It seems the perfect strategy to capitalise on his strengths and his opponents weaknesses.
It wasn`t because Taylor constantly clinched - B-Hop himself forced those clinches by leaning down and into Taylor after throwing his leads and not trying to throw on the inside. And it wasn`t because he didn`t have enough gas, he looked good for another 12 after the fight.
    So why was it?
Personally, B-Hop throughout his career has struck me as the kind of guy who isn`t happy unless he feels someone`s screwing him. I suspect it was partly his stubbornness that made him fight a similar fight to the first one, so that if he lost again he could at least piss and moan about the judges to his heart`s content afterwards.

he looked to fight taylor on the inside right but everytime hopkins goes toe-to-toe, jermaine does a lennox lewis, john ruiz style... he clinches him quickly so that he won't get burned... but on the contrary, b-hop showed he has no power anymore... his so-called sneaky right hand did not do any dmage on jermaine...

I honestly don't think he could've won on the inside or outside last saturday night unless god came down to ringside, tapped all three judges on the shoulder, and whispered softly in their ears, "Hey.. I'm God. Look closely at Taylor's punches... they're not connecting. And you hear these fans out here in the arena, they're not boxing analysts, they just want to see blood. See ya later." Now can we just move on? I think i've literally responded to somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 posts about last saturday's fight.

well it really does not hurt putting up "what if's"... we even make fantasy fights so speculating some thing does not hurt
