GBP is showing their inexperience as a promotional company. Top Rank would've handled one of these situations better.
Top Rank had little intention of putting the popular, undefeated, star in the making Juanma Lopez in against Gamboa, but they fed both camps bull***** about building up the fight for over a year, kept Gamboa busy fighting for titles (unifying and moving to 130 to grab a title) and would've kept it up until one or the other moved up to a different weight class permanently.
That is how you handle a situation like this.
As is, Lara has a reason to be upset. He doesn't have a title; he doesn't have a title fight scheduled; and he doesn't have a fight against a recognizable name scheduled.Comment

Well he should be in line to fight Canelo after Kirkland withdraw and as you say GBP is his promoter, he has to work in his best interest not put him on the back of the bus and if he does that he should get pay...Comment

its just so obvious that GBP have their Hand Full Of Fighters they focus on, the rest are with GBP to be used as stepping stones for those fighters they likeComment

If Lara had an IBF, WBO, or WBA title shot scheduled, he and his team wouldn't be pressing the WBC to enforce their mandatory.GBP is showing their inexperience as a promotional company. Top Rank would've handled one of these situations better.

After that, you keep the guy busy fighting at 154 or 160 (which he said he's willing to move up to). If Lara were to get a title at 160, he'd start to call out Sergio instead of Canelo.
If you let a guy sit around twiddling his thumbs, he's gonna get restless and go after the biggest money fight. GBP should have me on the payroll... Haymon couldn't advise better than this, lol.Comment
