If I prayed I'd pray for you. Hope for the best and a speedy recovery. You will always be the punisher.

Wow unbelievable spirit from Williams, I hope it continues. I wish him all the best and hope the bills aren't too heavy on him, I remember the guy donated like 100k to somewhere so I'm guessing he has plenty to go with that.Comment

No man, I think if anyone can deal with this, it's Paul. Not only is he a super positive guy all around, from what I understand he's been pretty good with his money. Draws some rental income, hopefully enough to sustain a comfortable lifestyle, I'd like to know more.I don't meaning to sound like a pessimist but I am worried about him. As optimistic as he sounds it isn't shocking in the sense that if you're to the follow the stages of grief it is the first stage where the individual is in denial about what they've experienced or how they're feeling. Just hope pray that his family stay strong and supportive when he goes through anger and depression.
When I think about his medical bills it makes me realise that the commission needs to do more to look after fighters once they have retired. So much money is made from PPV numbers throughout the year, something needs to be put in a collective pot to offer financial support for ex boxers in situations like this. Shouldn't have to be worrying about ''what happens if he burns through his money''.
A lot of bankrupt fighters have noone to blame but themselves, even if they hadn't got ripped off by the promoters they would have been just as broke, just a bit later. I mean, no pension would help RJJ with whatever money issues he's got. But this is only the big names, for sure there should be some kind of pension, for situations like this, and guys that never made any money, but for that you'd gave to have a national commission.Comment
