That'd be damned good but I doubt it'll be made. Too risky for the kid they're trying to make into a star. Ortiz is sort of 'damaged goods' until he makes a comeback, so if Canelo lost to Ortiz it might be a major setback.
How bout Ortiz vs Canelo Sept 15?

Good Idea, do you guys think they would cancel the Ortiz vs Lopez fight or use that as a tune up ??
they were doing this with Canelo vs Kirkland anyways ... who knows maybe they're down for itComment

Kirkland can't draw like Ortiz can. He has crossover potential. Kirkland is an all action warrior, but he doesn't draw like Canelo or even Ortiz does. They'll try to build Canelo vs Ortiz up for later down the line with trash talking they're doing.Comment

I say this everytime someone talks about Canelo, Ortiz, & Khan vs eachtoehr. GB is not putting these guys against eachother unless they have to. They want these 3 young guys to carry the company.
They all can make money so why have them cut eachothers head off? They arent going to do it. Im even now starting to add Cotto into that mix because I think he will be GBP affiliateComment

NO. Canelo has taken enough criticism for not fighting top contenders in the 154 pound weight class. The last thing he should do is fight a welterweight. He is trying to get fights with Williams, Kirkland, Trout, Bundrage or Lara. They are all champions or high ranked contenders at 154. Ortiz must beat someone good at 154 and earn a ranking first. You don't get a tittle shot at 154 by getting KOed at 147. I know Canelo was given his tittle but two wrongs don't make a right.Comment

Uhhh...Ortiz has a deal with showtime, if Im not mistaken, Canelo has a deal with HBO...Fight wont happen this soonI think Ortiz goin to 154 for Canelo shouldnt be a problem. Hes been takin shots at Canelo for a couple weeks now anyway. That definitely still lives up to its ppv name "knockout kings" ..Ortiz shouldnt take too much damage on 23rd anyway. i think it should happen and i think it would sellComment
