2-3 weeks ago Pac is named one of the most influential athletes in America by Forbes.

A week ago they list Manny having earned more than Floyd over twelve months.

Now they call Floyd the richest athlete and Forbes is being condemned as a tabloid that is rancid with yellow journalism.

    You guys crack me up...

pac better play his damn position like the hoe he is.
      bwahaha.........

P.a.c.t.a.r.dia is crumbling before their very eyes. theres no way this could have been avoided. Pac takes a L whether or not he fights floyd...paradox

The PPV generated 94 million dollars. HBO takes their cut, expenses,GB, Cotto. If he got 85 million, that would leave 9 million for everyone else to divide, which isn't realistic because Cotto was being paid a guarantee of 8 on his own.

Mayweather gets a high PPV percentage that is split with HBO. Floyd gets a guarantee of $32 million. After all of the money is divided up - maybe got Floyd 50-60 million and even that is up for debate but that's what Floyd has claimed to make for past pay-per-views and they weren't that far off from PPV number of the Cotto show. Mayweather-Mosley drew around 1.4 million buys and generated $78.3 million (lower PPV price) and Floyd himself claims to have made around 50 for that one.
It might look good on paper for Mayweather but that's revenue. Like Arum says, Mayweather does his numbers a little funny but the end result is no different than Pacquiao's. Mayweather thinks he's a promoter, lol.

Don't forget out of the revenue, expenses are taken out.

Let's take a 100M PPV. Out of that 100M, 50% is taken out for HBO and cable companies that carries the PPV. That's the basic business there, no argument needed. Out of the 50M that's left over, the promoter who actually hired staff and did the actual promotion takes their cut and pays their staff. In Mayweather's case that's GBP. Let's say GBP takes their 10M. That leaves 40M. Out of that Haymon takes his cut. Haymon is not cheap. He probably takes 5M, just guessing. Roger takes his 1M. Ellerbe takes his whatever crumbs he get. Now I don't know how big a staff Mayweather has but they need to get paid. Add to that all those roided bodyguards. Steroids are not cheap, they need to keep their supply up.

I'm guessing after he pays off everyone at Mayweather Promotions he's left with 25M. Now Uncle Sam gets his cut and it's close to 50%. That pretty well leaves Mayweather with a 12.5M dollar check that he can use to make rain with.

So get off your fantasy world that Mayweather makes 85M because that's all it is, fantasy.

This is a sad, sad(but hilarious) thread to read.. shame what a story by a credible source does to those who used it just a week ago to back their claims to these two boxers.
