Best asset to become a successful counter-puncher???

I have noticed that in the lower level, often times boxers just go in there and try to overwelm me with being agressive brawling style and I feel that learning counter punching is the way to go to protect myself and turn a slugfest in to a proper match.

Basicly by becoming a good counter-puncher I feel like I can bring order out of chaos and to help coserve energy by putting the fear on the aggressive boxers.

So at this point I want to get your recommendation in terms of wich boxer/counter fighter dealt with aggressive opponents to try and emulate or if there is any drills to imrpove my timing,footwork,jab/cross?

    Any advice would be great

    Best

    Regards!

    Improve your stance.

If they're being aggressive and your upper torso is leaning away , not only can you calmly react to the incoming punches, but you also make them have to reach and you can throw them off balance with a counter shot.
