The Bernard Slopkins Fun 'n' Laughter Joke Book

Why is Bernard Slopkins known as a "thinking fighter"?

    - He's always using his head.

Why is hard to get a drink out of Bernard Slopkins straight away down the bar?

    - He doesn't act until the later rounds.

Why can Bernard Slopkins still punch with his arm in a cast?

    - He doesn't mind hitting after a break.

Here's a picture of the Slop from his cameo role in Pulp Fiction:

I've only just got to see the fight, been away on holiday for a few days. What can I say? I had £20 on the Slop and £10 on a draw. Does the guy - who should be shot for even DARING to compare himself to Sugar Ray Robinson - not realise that just cos he makes Taylor look like a bandy-legged twat in the last few rounds if he doesn't score the KO he has to win MORE rounds than Jermaine does???

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of the Slop - he's an overrated charlatan who's earnt his stripes by fighting tin cans and pot shotting to win rounds - but I had him winning the first 115-113. This one he just gave away way too much. Okay, maybe Taylor could have lost a point for holding, but as my card was 116-112 Taylor it would hardly have mattered.

Yeah, Taylor didn't dominate the fight, but he won this one - was this really the two best Middleweights in the world or just a broadcast of "Amateur Hour"? The Slop has never looked sloppier, and his "I'll run like a twat then jump in to pot shot" tactic (If you're a fan, reread that last line as "The experienced tactician using the sweet science to confound his opponent" and you'll be fine) has never looked more ragged.

One last Slop slag-off to pre-empt the Slop fans (or should that be apologists?) Why is it that when De La Hoya ("Si, Amigo!") took him on, the night before even De La Hoya's own mother didn't give him a cat in Hell's chance of winning as he was a blown up little guy - but the day after it was "career defining"???

Let's face it, Taylor has good hand speed, but gets gassed doing essentially **** all. Not only that, but he's as green as ****. Yet he still Slopped up the Slop. The reign of the Slop is over... it was all just smokes and mirrors, you know. P4P hoax.

    STFU you limey ***.

I actually scored the fight for Hopkins, but they were both crap and i'd have preferred if they'd both found a way to lose.

Because Hopkins won the round of course, or at least thats how i scored it. Hopkins was starting to come out of his shell more, whereas Taylor was declining.

I'll watch it again, but I had that one Taylor. Maybe they'd lulled me to sleep.

I tell you what surprised me most - Taylor actually did LESS this fight (remember the first where he doubled up on the jab regularly?) yet won more clearly.

I just don't get it... the Slop turns up dressed like a gimp, makes "cut throat" gestures, compares himself to Sugar Ray, acts like he's won... then does **** all in the ring. I mean, I know it doesn't have to be an all-out war, but for someone who wants his titles back, why doesn't he FIGHT?
