Comments Thread For: Antonio Tarver Sees Heavyweight Title as The Final Goal

Don’t let the cruiserweight frame fool you; Antonio Tarver doesn’t plan on sticking around below 200 lb. for very long.

The 1996 Olympic Bronze medalist and former light heavyweight king firmly believes in his future lies a win over a Klitschko to capture any portion of the heavyweight crown. Any fight that comes along between now and then is just another stop along his chosen path.

Such a road leads to the June 2 cruiserweight collision with unbeaten contender Lateef Kayode. The two square off at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif, with Showtime to televise. [Click Here To Read More]

He looked awful when he ballooned up to over 220 in his HW debut against Nagy. As he gets older and more skills diminish, I doubt a HW career will be much to write home about. But, hey, there's nothing in the HW division other than a Klit brother stopping him, so go for it.

Maybe. MAYBE, he could upset Povetkin. Klitschko? No chance

I could see him being competitive with Povetkin but either Klitschko decapitates the milk dud.

LMFAO.... True ****! Tarver needs to realize the heavyweight division doesn't have a 50 year old Stallone, in the ranks.

Tarver vs. either Klitschko would go very badly for him. Wouldn't want to see it, he'll get hurt real bad.

the funny part is, a 50 year old stallone would probly have a good shot of beating tarver at heavyweight. tarver is another guy thats a legend in his own mind. i mean jesus christ he KOs roy jones and all of a sudden hes the GOAT?! come on tarver, stick to lightheavy or cruiser for a few more fights, retire, and be a color commentator or something...
