James Kirkland vs Canelo Alvarez is almost set for Sept 15

Kirkland vs Alvarez is set for Sept 15. I have been informed that Kirkland will start training next week. His shoulder healed up nicely. Who wins?

Bad move by Kirkland, he should have gone with his original plan of a tuneup in October. I'm not complaining though: none of us believed this fight was going to happen any time soon.

Canelo, in my opinion, by KO. He took some decent shots from Mosley and didn't give a ****. I'd say the ginger takes it. Then again, I picked Angulo over James.

      Damn fine fight this is.

Good fight, but Canelo stops him late. More well rounded fighter.

As long as Canelo doesn't get reckless, he wins by mid to late round KO (6-9) Canelo and Kirkland are sure to trade bombs but the fact is Kirklands chin has been checked quite a few times, and none were by ****ers like Canelo, if Canelo hurts him he won't let him survive the way Angulo did..

I actually feel a Angulo-Canelo fight would've been better stylistically speaking and on Mexican independence weekend, but I'll take this match-up as well hopefully the undercard is well put together as well..

This is a shot at stardom or something close to it, those dont come along all the time. Better take it when he can.

Hell yeaa!!!! been wanting this fight!!! If the kirkland that fought angulo shows up canelo is in serious trouble. Major Props to goldenboy for putting their young star against a very live threat.

If this fight falls through im convinced 2012 boxing is cursed.

I don't disagree, but losing a fight (and lets be real, if James loses to Canelo it'll be by KO) because you came into the ring with an injured/unhealed shoulder could end his career just as easily.

You're right though; they're only asking for Kirkland because they have precious few viable options after Williams' accident. I doubt the fight would be offered again.
