Seeing as half the people on here refer to him as a one dimensional midget and think Bradley can beat him, I'd say he's underrated.

he's so overrrated, so one dimensional, fights shot past prime fighters, too small, easy work...................

I don't think so because there really weren''t a lot of expections from him when he started his career, no hype whatsoever. He only became highly rated when he started fighting and beating the big names of the sport, in different categories. A rare feat especially from a one armed fighter who was never touted as a future great. Manny actually overachieved. I guarantee you, 50 years from now no one will deny his greatness. How could you, after 4 lineals and 8 division titles? He will be remembered as one of the greats of the sport. Not bad for a small Asian midget. Just don't call him the greatest, though. Or else I'm gonna have to agree with the TS.

You have to be a real tard not to rate his achievements. If he is a fraud then what does that say for everyone else in sport? People need to move on from the daily online soap opera and give Mayweather and Pac both the respect they earned.

Btw Pac's career > Jones jr

Overrated, yet Floyd da best has been ducking him for years now. One-dimensional, he fought weight-drained, inferior opponents. But Floyd just won't fight him. That's why these threads are just making Floyd look bad, if you ask me.

Someone .. and it isn't me .. is obviously smoking crack.

This is why real fans hate Pacquiao:

                  His exaggerating fan base.

To steal one of Larry Holmes' lines .. Pacquiao couldn't carry a prime RJJ's jock strap.

When you consider that Pacquiao didn't even fight outside of his own little corner of Asia until his 35th fight, and then didn't step up to world class competition until his 41st fight, his resume doesn't look so impressive.

RJJ win over BHOP & p4p#1 Toney > anything Pacquiao has EVER done. Not to mention going up to HW and winning a title. Those things are much greater than targeting 6 big names that were all coming off losses.

That really depends on who you are talking to. Personally find dlh more overrated than him. 2009 i find mayweather more overrated than him. It was on the last 3 fights that pbf picked up a string of quality opponents. At least on paper. Still that is more than what i can say for pac. Anyhow, he is still one of the best fighters for the last 25 years. So, i wouldnt call him overrated but an overachiever. Pre 2008, no one really considered him doing good at >135. Let us just wait and see. He is on his last legs. As a fan, i want him to retire soon. Normally, you wont see many with similar fighting style lasting long. It is already a testament of greatness that he is still doing good at 33.

Of the previous p4p kings Mayweather(who never lost and is still active Manny got p4p by default), Roy Jones, and Pernell Whitaker none of them got the praise of Pacquiao and they were more dominant and illustrated more skill in the ring

Fighters who were undoubtedly the best of their time like Roy Jones and Pernell Whitaker didnt recieve half the hoopla Pacquaio does and both beat their closest rivals of their time. Both never lost a clear fight til their mid 30's and dominated their eras and people always have something to say about their style or competition. Jones and Floyd Mayweather beat more champions than Manny, and Whitaker proved he was the best of his era by fighting the best

I think its his fans that overrate him, but most hardcore fans and other people dont....some of his ardent fans assertions are a bit far fetched and overboard
Not even close to being the most overrated in the last 25 years. How do you overrate a 8 division champ. Everyone talks about P-Will who was once the most feard fighter in boxing, but at one time, not too long ago, so was Margaritio, who had damn near a 20 pound advantage, which is crazy by the way, on Manny and got his ass whipped. You mentioned Roy Jones, dude is without a doubt my fav. fighter of all time, sadly I saw him live get KO'd by Glen Johnson in Memphis, but if you look at RJJ's resume, theres only a Prime Toney and Prime Hopkins that stands out. He was the fastest fighter ever with huge power and a crazy superb athlete, no doubt, but he fought ALOT of tomato cans. And what do you mean Sweet Pea never got the credit he deserved? He was once ranked by Ring Magazine and many other publications the number one P4P fighter in the world and so was Jones and so was Mayweather for that matter, so your crying over spilled milk.
