Yeah that's what I was thinking. Like Bute, Mikkel is happy to box on the outside which would suit LB. He'll obviously take an easier fight before facing someone of Kessler's standard though.

Agree on your latter point too re. Kess, I actually think a Froch-Kessler II fight could take enough out of both men to finish them at the top level.

You're probably right about a rematch. It's still surprising to me how much Froch's power got to Bute, it was like he was from a weight class below.

Maybe Bute would match up better against another 'pure' boxer, a rematch is probably best avoided at this stage.
Not just the power but Bute did not have much significant relative speed advantage. Bute was suppose to use movement/speed to outbox Froch. Didn't see that. Bute was easily countered. When Bute moves forward with his left, his head moves forward and is quite exposed.....

Bute does have handspeed, he has not suddenly become slow, the problem was, Froch started in this fight throwing punches to LAND and not to knock his opponents head off, as Rob Mckracken told him in the build up, you are heavy handed, just put hands on him.

Froch's awkward stance, combined with throwing quicker, straight shots was causing his shots to be much quicker, which Bute couldnt handle and it ****ed him up.

Yeah. Too much wear and tear. I think Froch would take some easy $$ fight now. But I think Kessler definitely was not the same after that eye injury. In fact, I think Froch has done better after the fight than Kessler who I think won narrowly against Froch.

Now that you mention it. I always though Froch throws a lot of hooky punches. Maybe he changed to quicker straighter shots. I need to check the fight again.

The punches that really started the end for Bute was a quick jab, a short right hook and a second short hook, all three were much faster shots than the wide hooks he usually goes for.

Correct. Was checking some footage. He did shorten and straighten his punches more in this fight. Hmmmm...
