Calzaghe beat Hops, so how the **** would a 1 dimensional, limited skilled 2 punch fighter beat Hops with extremely good defence.

    Gobsmacked anyone would think this.
These posts were made about 3 years ago before Calzaghe beat the hell out of Lacy.

That's why they're so funny, especially because the same people are STILL criticizing Calzaghe.

Tarver is a counter puncher and is hardly aggressive and since the Tito fight, Hopkins has been less and less aggressive and his opponents havent helped that, including Taylor. I mean Hopkins fights have been super boreing lately, despite how good he has been.

Now think about a fight with Lacy. He is the perfect opponent. It wouldnt be boring like Hopkins vs Taylor or Tarver. Lacy would bring the fight straight to Hopkins and would try to KO him from the jump. Then we could see Hopkins skill go to work and see how he could handle him at this age. It is also more better because he doesnt have that far to go like he would if it was Tarver at 175.

A Hopkins-Lacy fight would be super exciting and you know Lacy would be down for it. It would be great to see Hopkins go out in his last fight in a super exciting one against a big puncher at a higher weight. Everyone would want to see this fight. It would sell big time with boxing fans.

What are your thoughts on this fight? Would you like to see it and who do you think would win and how?
And how exactly this fight helps boxing as a sport exactly? Any champion there, any undefeated fighter or anyone coming up? No. This is another Zab vs Mosley for you to pay. Not me.

Its an old thread from before the Calzaghe-Lacy thread. _Ricky_ bumped it.
