Absolutely horrible news. I feel terrible for Paul and his family right now.

Here's hoping he can either beat the odds and learn to walk again, or at least come to terms with the loss of mobility in his lower body, so that he can still find a way to enjoy the many years he still has left to live.

      Gutted.

Man, this hit me like a ton of bricks. I hate to hear of anyone going through this and to see a pro athlete who makes his living with his body is even worse.

All my condolences to Paul Williams and his family and there's really nothing you can say to put this into perspective. Boxing has really taken some hard blows this week with Johnny Tapia dying and now this with P. Will.

I heard he made good investments and is doing well financially.

I've had a pit in my stomach since I first heard this story. Still can't believe it. One of the true fighters in the sport, and as anyone who ever met the man can tell you, one of the classiest and nicest guys you could hope to meet.

And just to clear some things up, according to reports, he was wearing a helmet and did not seem to be riding irresponsibly. As he passed a car, the driver (who was on his cell phone) didn't see him and swerved toward him. Paul tried to avoid being hit by him and an oncoming vehicle and ended up swerving on to an embankment where he lost control of the bike.

Paul- the reason I fell in love with boxing

Love ya buddy, hang in there. although i hate seeing your career come to an abrupt end, i hope to god you pull through and make a speedy recovery. you were the #1 reason why I become a fan of this sport. Your fight with margarito still gives me goosebumps and i remember screaming at the tv and my lil boy who was only 2 at the time yelling for days "c'mon paul" "c'mon paul"..... even our biggest gladiators show how fragile we really are... god bless u my man!
