William's manager is talking about Canelo on boxing scene top headlines so I think it's ok for us to talk about Canelo without being classless. Anyway, I pick Canelo to beat whoever he fights, just like I always do.

canelos old enough to win a belt so he better be ready to defend it. I'd like to see canelo vs kirkland but i read kirkland is fighting in october.

this should have been the matchup from the beginning. However, GBP is taking the same approach with Alvarez that Top Rank took with Pac. They are putting him in the ring with the least threatening, but highest profile fighters they can find. Cotto is still too much of a threat for GBP to put Alvarez in the ring with him.

I agree. However, the difference is that Vargas had less than 20 fights when he fought Trinidad. Alvarez has close to 40 fights. If you have 40 fights and a championship belt, you ought to be ready to for Class A competion -- unless, like Alvarez, Hatton and Chavez Jr, the fighter was never very good to begin with.

Sooooo forgetting about a fight means you don't know **** about boxing. But I'll take that over not understanding reading comprehension as forgetting Williams last fight has something to do with the outcome of Canelo/Cotto? Dumbass.

There's Kirkland, Quintana, Molina (lost but was winning and got shafted once AGAIN) and there's Lara.
this is a PPV and kirkland, quintana, molina are not known fighters Cotto has a big name and will make a huge PPV profit

and who cares if cotto lost look at who he lost to

Canelo´s big power and Cotto´s fragility recipe for puertorican disaster.

If GBP wanted Canelo to fight Cotto they would have made an offer from the start. Cotto at this point is too much for someone like Canelo so this fight won't happen anytime soon. Cotto will comeback at the end of the year and Canelo will end up fughting Quintana, Kirkland or Molina.
