New York Times suggested Peterson might be charged with possession of illegal performance enhancing drugs, under feral legislation, since congress passed strict anti-steroid laws about 6 years ago. Peterson has already confessed so hopefully he loses everything, and is jailed and banned from boxing for life.

Peterson DID commit a crime, and he could have seriously hurt Khan with his cheating tactics. No difference between him and Margarito, both got caught.

I am not a fan of Khan and was rooting for Peterson to win. But that win is tarnish with Lamont testing positive. Plus that win also has to do win hometown decision.

Like i said, its double standards in here. If Khan was the one who tested positive with the same substance, most of the Floyd/Peterson fans will cry about it. If Peterson said the same statement, the same fans will agree on that.

how do anti-steroid laws have any influence on peterson's punishment for taking a testosterone supplement?

peterson did not commit a crime, he took a testosterone pill (or had it inserted in him). testosterone pills can be picked up at any health and nutrition store. THEY ARE NOT ILLEGAL. you can claim he was trying to cheat which is fine, but dont say he commited a crime because he did not do anything against the law. it was just against the rules of boxing which is not the same as breaking a law. he also had a doctor prescribe it for him which makes it 100% not legal since his testosterone deficiency is apparently well documented.

futher to this, while he did take a supplement or PED, he did not take an illegal substance (as it relates to actual laws). and while he did take it, it would appear that his testosterone levels were still below what the cutoff is. i believe the cutoff is a reading of 4.00 and he scored 3.77 so while he did take a PED, it can't be said that he necessarily gained an advantage. rather, it's more like he corrected a major deficiency while staying within the limits as set by the governing bodies. the only problem is that he did it in a manner not approved by the rules of boxing.

also, it would appear that the problem stems from the fact that he didnt tell anyone about this initially. it's been said many times that he probably could have gotten permission to use this testosterone pill if he had just shown that he needed it to begin with. it's only a problem now because he never mentioned it so it looks like he was trying to hide it. so it's not that it's necessarily against the rules to have this pill, you just need permission first. and his problem is that he just never got permission to do it.

in the future, please think about what you are saying before you say it.

First: THERE HAS BEEN NO TRIAL. No evidence has been examined. Noofficials have been brought in to look at the case. NOTHING. Everyone on BOTH sides of the issue need to chill the F out already till we know more.

Second: If it turns out the doctor prescribed testosterone DID enhance performance. Make the bout a NC and give Khan back his straps.

Third: To the ****** that compared this scenario to ANTONIO MARGARITO....you are dumb as paint and I hope you never breed. The DOCTOR brough Petersons testosterone up to a NORMAL level. A doctor. Normal levels. MARGARITO dipped his hands in PLASTER OF PARIS SO HE COULD BREAK ANOTHER BOXERS FACE. If you think those are similar, I need you to hang yourself before you further pollute the gene pool.

Fourth: To the "It was a crime!" crowd, screaming and crying about how he should be banned for life and "lose everything". Again....he got this stuff from a doctor.
