Bute Possibly Exercising Rematch Clause, Hoping To Pull A Terry Norris?

Reading some of Bute's remarks it seems possible he would like another crack at Froch. Maybe he's a fan of the Great Terry Norris and he can possibly gain inspiration from what Norris did against Simon Brown in their rematch.

If everyone recalls Simon Brown dominated Terry Norris in their first match, beating him up and knocking him out in much worse a fashion than Froch did to Bute. However, in their rematch Norris displayed his incredible boxing skills, combining great hand speed with dazzling combinations and unbelievable footwork. He easily won every rd and thoroughly humiliated Brown in a dominating fashion. Maybe Bute should watch that fight and maybe it could give him some hope.

In my opinion, Bute is no Terry Norris. Terry was a great fighter with the quickest hands and best footwork that the 154lb division has ever seen. Yeah he had a weak chin, but he could always compensate for it with his great boxing ability. Its his falling in love with his knockout power that got his chin in so much trouble at times. Norris had the ability to come back from defeat even before losing to Brown and it remains to be seen if Bute has that same gift.

Just watching what happened to Bute and the possibility of him exercising the rematch clause reminded me of what happened in the first Norris vs Brown fight and what Bute hopes could possibly happen in a rematch. But, again Bute's no Terry Norris.

Bute needs to fire his entire camp (Stephan Larouche, That Fat Conditioner, strength dude and the Canadian ho who makes him sandwiches) and a ship himself to Vegas or Cali-perhaps hook up with the man himself, Terry Norris!...saying that he'll still get beat.

He should just go back to fighting B-level fighters mabye pick up an IBO or WBU belt and let those fools up in Canada worship him, he could fight Froch 100 times and he would get KTFO 100 times!

Bute if he rematches needs to fight his fight and not get drawn into trading toe to toe like he did on Saturday.

I commented in something similar. Bute does have better skills than he showed on Saturday. Going straight back, not going to his right and staying in the pocket to long got him really hurt in the fight. He did land punches that momentarely slowed down Froch at the moment he got hit.

If he is able to make those adjustments and not get tired in the end of the fight it would be more competitive. I'm not saying that he would win because Carl never stops trying and has a very strong chin.

BTW that was a masterful performance by Norris. Their first fight he got KOed really ugly and was hurt for most of the fight

Bute should not have his name in the same sentence with "Terrible" Terry Norris! But I understand where you're coming from. Terry may have been the most complete offensive fighter there ever have been. He had every punch you could throw in his arsenal. If he was a more disciplined fighter, his record would have been much better. I think he would get too emotional in the ring. Instead of using his boxing skills, he would try to take his opponents head off. A few times, and especially with Brown, it backfired. He's still one of the best to ever lace them up!

When the fight was originally inced, it was said that they wanted to tour each others countries. Fight in the UK then in Canada. There's no surprise here if he doesn't want that rematch, because they both inked the deal under the impression they'd fight twice anyway, with hopes of a Rubber if they went 1-1 for big money.

Canada is as crooked as Germany and Texas when it comes to homecooking refs and judges. Bute would simply need to survive 12 rounds and he'd walk away champ again. Not to mention the fight would sell out in minutes and make oodles of cash.

He'd be ****** to not take the rematch.

If Bute exercises the rematch clause then I give him a lot of credit after suffering such a defeat.

But honestly it would be career suicide, I think he should stay well away from a puncher in his next bout build a little confidence up and see where he wants to go from there.

Fighting Froch right away will be the end of his career if it isn't already.
