    Chris Mannix, on Twitter, giving respect to Lucian Bute

    Start from the bottom, and read your way up.

    Froch could take a lighter defense in Nottingham. Librado Andrade was on his list if Bute had passed. Kessler a possibility, too.

    Wouldn't surprise me if Bute took on an aggressive, Froch-like (but easier) opponent next fight. Then take the rematch.

    Bute will go home, probably win another title and rake in the cash because he is a wildly popular fighter. Handful of fighters can do that.

    He had the guts to, as champ, go into a hostile environment and defend his title. When he makes a fortune at home. Who else would do that?

    People act like Bute didn't seek out big fights. He wasn't invited into the Super Six. Kessler backed out on him. Pavlik, too. He's tried.

    It's pathetic reading quotes/tweets from other boxers bashing Lucian Bute. He lost. Big deal. He wasn't weak. He took some monster shots.

    Andre Ward, on twitter, giving respect to Carl Froch:

    @Carl_Froch Cong**** bro!! Big win!!

    Boxing is sport where fighters don't like to give credit to other fighters, especially in the same weight class, but Froch deserves credit!!

      That was a good read Lucian was overrated on here by many including myself but he still is a good fighter who took a big risk and travelled right too Frochs back yard and he and his team have been classy throughout (whatever thats worth)

          Whoever thought Bute would beat Froch should be ashamed of themselves, that is all.

            I'm not going to slam Bute. He finally did what we always moaned about him not doing, took on a risky opponent and fought them in their own backyard. So he lost. Big deal. That's the nature of taking risks. To kick him while he's down is to endorse other stay at home pansies and bum beaters to do exactly what they're doing.

            Big respect to Bute for even considering this fight. Hope he bounces back, however unlikely that looks at the moment.

              Then you are speaking of most of the boxing world, as the majority of people thought it would be a competitive, pick 'em fight. Nothing to be ashamed of.

                yeah, and he fought like a man, too; kept throwing leather and never went down.

                  Bute can recover...but his fans needed a Big Slice Of Humble Pie so I really don't feel sorry for the guy or his fans

                  they was all over the internet hyping this guy up for the last year or two and saying how "BUTE IS THE BEST" blah blah blah "Ward Is Afraid Of Bute", bitter reality hit them yesterday and they found out the hard way that Bute is not as good as they thought and he was indeed overrated by them as well as many Boxing Websites

                  but Bute is not alone, it is a lot of fighters in boxing today who are very similar to Bute and reality will hit them just as hard once they step up the competition and start to face the TOP LEVEL FIGHTERS
