Ward or Mayweather - who is the more well rounded?

hey I'm a Floyd fan too, Ward has a lot in his arsenal too.. Never seen Floyd really bully opponents up close backing them up against the ropes. Both great, Floyd more so at defense and counter punching but Ward seems to break down his opponents just as well if not better.

Ward is a well rounded fighter.
Mayweather is a great fighter.
Unlike most posters on here, I don't coin the term great often.

I am also a huge Ward fan, mainly because he is a local fighter, and he frequents establishments and gyms in my area. And I support him 100%, but they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence.

You can't compare this out of prime Floyd to an in prime Ward. The fact that Ward has emulate some of Floyd's techniques should answer you the question of who's the more well-rounded fighter. At this point, if they were fighting at the same weight division, I'd take Ward easily.

I think Ward disabling opponents while on the offense through most of the fight is very very impressive, Floyd does most of his work on the back foot.

Those are just stylistic and or strategic differences. Just because a fighter doesn't do something in the ring, doesn't mean they can't do it.

Mayweather does not have a crowd-pleasing casual-fan-inducing style. That speaks nothing on his near immaculate boxing skill and gift.

the only reason why floyd looking like a speedy genius is because he is fighting slow arse fighters that he cherry picked

while ward has to fight different styles because of the super six, different speed fighters, different power, and has proven that his skills is above those styles

Floyd fought Judah Mosley Oscar wasn't slow Ricky hatton had pretty decent speed corrales wasn't slow. Who has ward fought that was even close to his speed he couldnt show it off vs Direll Abraham was a walking punching bag for him he technically out classed the much slowe froch allen green had no hope and bika well it was a decent fight but he wasn't very fast either he had a good punch looped a lot of punches tho only real thing he had going for him was his pressure. So my question is how has Floyd not fought fighters with different mixtures of speed power and aggression ?

I see a couple of guys around 168-175 that could beat Ward I really don't anybody between 140-154 that could beat Floyd Mayweather

Both have top notch defense and offense, Ward to me seems to have everything, dirty tactics, hitting and holding up close.. maybe even more to his game than Floyd?

you severly underrate Floyd's inside game & strength. He's a pure boxer but he's mad complete. Who in boxing fights in the pocket better than Floyd? Ward is a great inside fighter but not better than Floyd.

Also, Floyd might do more pure boxing but he has been in fights where he was on the Offensive, on the inside, and muscling guys. He also did it while in 5 different weight classes and still only coming in at 148-150 pounds in the ring. Lets see Ward's inside game even one weight class higher or agaisnt guys naturally bigger than him. Its a different thing.

Floyd is a beast though on the inside and in the pocket. I think he may even be better at that than his pure boxing. He's also good as a pressure fighter which you act like he hasnt shown. I disagree. He's come forward in a number of fights, e****ally recently and e****ally against Southpaws.

I love Ward but Floyd has shown to be one of the if not thee most complete fighter ever. That doesnt make you the best but he can do it all from Offense, defense, boxing, inside fighting, jabbing, body punching, mental, and so on. Ward is the best to come along in a long time at matching those things but he's not there yet

You guys give credit to things Floyd doesn't do, and ignore the skills that Ward has already shown.
