Surprised at how easy he was getting hit for an out boxer, amateur accolades, olympics yada yada.
Bute's chin?

Not glass but below par. The disparity in chin between them was a big issue tonight. Bute landed some really clean, short lefts that Carl withstood. But everything Froch landed seemed to stun Bute.
Johnson, Pascal and Kessler took plenty of shots from Carl without getting anywhere near as hurt. Hell, even Taylor took some good licks (before the last round) without being out on his feet.
That last round versus Andrade was more telling than we thought.Comment

IMO Bute left his heart at home for this fight. He reminded me of Cotto's atitude and mentality prior to his Floyd bout.
After this *performance* I think it's safe to say that Bute's chin hasn't been tested before at pro level, not in his title defences and definetly not in sparring. I think he looked at it too much like a job or sport and wasn't mentally ready for war. And tonight, faced with a real battle he folded.Comment

If your chin isn't great you'd damn well better have some heart (see Khan vs Maidana, Mitchell vs Witherspoon, Marquez vs Pacquiao etc...). Bute more or less quit as soon as he was hurt.Comment
