You're turning into JUY JUY. I have to save you from that fate. Two guys with great boxing knowledge posting non stop Benn and Eubank **** on this forum would be unbearable.
Who would win this respective matchup somewhere between 160 and 168?
It's a classic case of puncher vs. boxer.
This fight would of happened if Benn beat Graham for the British title in 1988, but Graham wouldn't fight Benn.
Who wasn't scared of Benn before the Watson fight (and especially before the Logan fight)?? Seriously, Kalambay would of had deep fear of Benn as everybody did back then. He'd of been too cautious to be as effective as he usually was. Kalambay was even shorter than Benn, and Benn was a brutal body puncher to guys who were shorter than him back then, every guy who was shorter than Benn back then would be battered to the body.. because Benn liked to get under his opponents punches to come up and swing those hooks to the head and uppercuts (so he suited fighting taller fighters for the head shots). I think Benn hurts Kalambay to the body in this fight, Kalambay had an excellent defence from what I remember to avoid head shots but the body is a stationary target and to stay towards the outside of the ring (as Kalambay often did if I remember) against That Benn And be shorter than That Benn would of been dangerous territory for your ribcage. Barkley and DeWitt were brawlers (Benn looked better against Barkley, DeWitt and Sims than Kalambay did FWIW), Kalambay didn't have to deal with a fighter who cut the ring off effectively. I see Benn trapping him against the ropes or in a corner where there would be no escape with Benn.
Sumbu was just too good a pro to be ruffled by the high-speed attack of Benn.
Nigel would have a much better chance of catching up with movers like Nunn and Graham, who both took a lot more risks defensively and could get lackadaisical and sloppy at times.
It is a great matchup of puncher vs boxer, though.
