    Canelo/Williams PPV Buys

How many buys will this one do? I've heard a lot of people attribute Floyd's numbers for Cotto to the fact that Alvarez was also on the bill. I think it will sell decently, sounds like the card is gonna be stacked.

Canelo doesnt have the PPV caliber yet, its awful how this fight ended on PPV. It will not even reach 400K

            1.5 hundred k - 3 hundred k

too soon for a fight against somebody like williams, who is clearly on the downward slide.

It will do quite bad I'd imagine. 200k maybe?

That actually may not be so bad. We're somewhat damaged seeing multiple 1million+ fights.

If he does 250-300K, I think that's about right for what we think his ability to draw people in is. If he does less, maybe we jumped the gun on how popular he really is in this country so far. And if he does more than 300K, like around 350-400K against Paul Williams, than Canelo becomes a legit PPV star/draw in my eyes. Floyd's first few PPV's did pretty well for where he was at the time. He did 360K with Gatti, 350K with Judah, and 315K with Baldomir. If Canelo can match those numbers in his first PPV fight, that'd be good for him.

People need to remember that most fighters didn't do 1 million buys all the time like Floyd and Manny, s**t even Oscar only did over 1 million 4 times, and 2 of those times were with Floyd and Manny.

If he does less than 250K, I think they failed a bit. If he does between 250-350, it's a success and where I expect it to be. If he exceeds 350K, I think it's a huge success for Canelo's first PPV.

Well going thru different forums and websites,There is buzz about
this fight and fans seems to like this fight alot. But it seems there not
happy about it being ppv.So if they promote it good and have a good
undercard it could do well.Hopefully if hbo or showtime get it they
have a 24-7 or 360 to promote the fighters

300k. I think Golden Boy is doing a great job of developing their young champion.

He's defeated a name fighter on the biggest ppv event in 5 years. That momentum should carey into this fight.

Now what you have, is a respected fighter who was once untouchable. A guy that's going to throw 1,000 punches and give Canelo plenty of chances to land clean shots and score an impressive ko victory. If not, this will be a 12 round war with over 1,500 punches thrown.

Regardless, Canelo will leave this fight with more fans and more respect than he came into the fight with. And it sets up a superfight possibly on Cinco de Mayo 2013 with Miguel Cotto.
