True! the fight wasn't close at all. I gave Carl three rounds but I remember that two of the judges had it 115-113....so Carl could always say it was a close fight and tell people to check out the score cards.

If he proves he can hit a moving target he might actually win the fight.

Bute is a much better boxer and has far superior power and movement. And if not for the Super Six Froch would have been fighting the same caliber of fighters that Bute was forced to fight while everyone else in the division was tied up with the tournament.

Actually Carl has nothing to prove, because we have already seen everything he is capable of, which personally, I don't think is that much. Anyone who thinks Froch is a great boxer does not know the first thing about the mechanics and skills associated with boxing. First let me give Froch credit for what he is...he is tough, gritty, determined, has a great chin and he is willing to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. I have to give him all of that, 100%. As far as everything else, he has terrible footwork, no defense, sloppy technique and is slow. He has long arms which is part of the reason he is able to make as many connects as he does. His victories have mostly been on will, not skill. Kessler beat him fairly, Dirrell was robbed against him, he lost 11.5 rounds against Taylor and the Johnson fight could have gone either way. Froch's only true, clear win over a real quality opponent was against Abraham. He did not have an off night against Ward, he was just totally outskilled and outboxed. Ward had more will as well. We all know Bute is going to lose a decision if it goes 12, that is not even a question. He has no choice but to stop/KO Froch to win. Sucks that is how it is, but nevertheless, that is how it is. Bute is a great fighter and has speed and power, but anyone who saw the 1st Andrade fight knows, constant grit and pressure can get to Bute and that is what Froch will bring. Bute has to hurt Froch in the early/mid rounds to keep Froch off of him and then pick him apart. Bute has to hurt Froch to the body and slow him down and then try to take him out. If he cannot hurt Froch, he probably loses a decision or possibly gets stopped in late rounds and succumbs to pressure.

          WAR Bute!!

            Hitman

            lol think again

We'll see - I think Bute is hype and if he proves me wrong on sat night I'll hold my hands up and say i called this one wrong.

People seem to forget - Bute best wins are Andrade (decent), Magee and an old Johnson.

Nothing to tell us how he'll cope at elite level - plus the fact that Bute - has already been stopped by Andrade just not officially.

The British judge scored it 118-110, the two North American judges had it 115-113.

I'm not sure what Kev is going on about re. the judges in Nottingham. Most of Froch's fight there have ended in KO/TKO, the only controversial decision was Dirrell who did not fight like a champion and did not deserve the belt.

Great post. If Ward hadn't broke his hand in the 8th their fight would have been a 100% shut out and Froch would possibly have been stopped (like Team Ward's gameplan intended) in the final rounds.

I concur. And Abraham is not a skilled fighter (just a brawler), so what does that really say about Froch's skills? Froch has problems with boxers & Bute is a boxer-puncher, which double the trouble. I see Bute wearing Froch down with body shots, then it's time for some chin music.....
