Could a Heavyweight boxing tournament be successful/plausible?

If one of the Klitschko's stepped aside (most likely Vitali)

They could use any number of fighters and I can't see Wlad losing out on any revenue if he was allowed to stay in Germany and would raise profile of others in the division and the heavyweight division itself.

lets say a list of any of these guys

Povetkin
Arreola
Mitchell
Botsov
Pulet
Fury

Choose 5 + Wlad and put the heavyweight division back on the map. Get Sky Sports, RTL and Showtime behind it, and maybe even 3 american, 3 euros like Super 6.

It would be a great idea to have one in 2/3 years once the Klitschkos have retired to decide the new heavyweight king.

Untill then absolutly not.

What would the Klitsckos have to gain from partaking?? Everyone already knows there the best and if both or even one of them where not to partake the whole tournament would be pointless as the winner would come out only ranked as the worlds 3rd best heavyweight and they wouldnt even have a world title to show for it. Meanwhile the Klitschkos would be left with an even smaller pool of crap challengers and we'd have even worse heavyweight title fights than we already do.

So no... in 2/3 years ya definetly... but not now.

I say have a American tourney and euro one and the winners of that fight each other and the winner of that fights one of the k bros since they'll be even older by then it might even it up

Would be a good idea after they retire to have one champ, Wlad might break Joe Louis record for title defenses, so after that bring on a 8 man tourney.
