Did he get exposed as being terrible against southpaws? Yes, as far back as 2008 by Quintana, or if you want to push it, it was actually against Mitchell but was too small to capitalize on that. But I see the same exact Paul Williams against Ishida, as the one in 2007 against Margarito, and the one who can't duck a punch if his life depended on it against Walter Matthysse in 2006.

This "Williams is past it" stuff is false. Put Williams against Cotto in 2007, I would have Williams beating him. Put Wiliams against Cotto now, he'd still win. Williams can still beat the guys he could have beaten in 2006-2009. If Williams does not beat Canelo in their fight, then no version of Williams can beat this version of Canelo IMO.

Golden Boy is the best promotional company for this very reason. Their fighters have to sink or swim against stiff competition, regardless if those fighters are from the same stable or not. And I never get the impression they are paying off the judges, because if they were, there's no way Khan would have ever lost to Peterson in DC. I really appreciate Oscar and Richard Schaefer.
