Team Khan to put David Price to Golden Boy for July 7

On the back of David Price’s comments about making his American debut on Amir Khan’s July 7th fight card at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Khan’s manager Asif Vali has told WBN that he will put the matter to Golden Boy Promotions in the near future.

Vali, who was ringside in at Aintree Racecourse to witness Price’s crushing fourth round win over Sam Sexton, was impressed by the new British champion and is keen to help secure a slot on Khan’s upcoming bill for the former Olympic bronze medallist.

"David Price put on a great performance against Sam Sexton to win the British heavyweight title and it's clear he is a genuine prospect,” Vali told World Boxing News.

“I saw that he mentioned he would like to fight on the undercard of Amir's next fight and this is something which I'm going to put to Golden Boy Promotions to see what can be worked out."

Price, 28, has few options domestically for his next fight by his own admission, and the logical step for the 13-0 knockout specialist is to test himself further afield against some seasoned professionals across the Atlantic.

For Khan, the 25 year-old is still attempting to secure an opponent for his headline bout in the summer following the collapse of his WBA and IBF title challenge against Lamont Peterson earlier this month.

Good news. Be interested to see who they put Price in with.

    Didn't realise he was 28.
