Who in this era do you think could have competed with the O.G's

I've been watching a lot of old school fights and these guys were on a different level. They were warriors blood in and blood out. They went for broke each time. They didn't give a **** about anything except to keep punching you as hard and as often as they can. And they didnt make excuses or slow down no matter how dirty or hard it got they just kept fighting. Boxing was a hell of a lot rougher back then than it is now.

between floyd and manny, A prime manny is the only one I see that can compete against them. Especially in a 15 or more round fight. Edwin Valero is another one.

    Who else is there?

You mean the guys that were already knocked out and quit? Having opposition with as much talent as some dude at the gym?

in their primes these guys would be greats from any era. they might not win all of their fights but they'd cement great legacies.

                  hopkins
                  toney
                  jones
                  wladimir
                  vitali
                  pacquiao
                  marquez
                  holyfield
                  mayweather
                  trinidad
de la hoya (freakish at LW)
                  mosley (also freakish at LW)

there are others. dont get your panties in a bunch if i missed one.

cant say for sure yet (because he's not yet a great fighter,) but i think andre ward would be competitive with guys at 168 from today and at 175 from days back when there was a same day weigh in and no SMW division

now, guys like martinez (a top p4p fighter today,) i think he loses to virtually every great middleweight
                  probably by knockout.

In proper weightclass many of the greats of today could compete.

                    Kid Chocolate vs. Floyd?
                    Manny Pac vs. Arguello?
                    Hopkins vs. Monzon?
                    Roy vs. Spinks?

Hell. I'd tune in. PM me the stream url.

Maybe some of these are not old enough? I get confused from reading about Pernell Whitaker as old school.

But yeah point remains. Match people appropriately (good example: Floyd against a featherweight~ Bad Example: Toney vs. Frazier - Floyd vs. Hearns)
