Sucker punched huh? Last time I checked it was a fight and both guys agreed to throw punches and have punches thrown at them. I guess since Ortiz decided he wasnt going to fight or protect himself Mayweather was supposed to oblige him and wait til he was "ready". Not to mention Ortiz was throwing elbows to the back of Mayweather's head and the blatant headbutt. I guess Mayweather is supposed to trust that a guy who had been trying to cheat during the whole fight didnt have any tricks up his sleeve and wait til Ortiz decides he wants to fight. Hugs and kisses. Even after a quick left hook he wont put up his hands. More excuses for Ortiz. But when it comes to fighters losing to Mayweather there's always excuses. Marquez got "cheated on the scales". De La Hoya was "too old". Mosely was "over trained and past prime". Victor "dirtiest fighter in boxing" Ortiz got sucker punched. GTFOH! He deserves no sympathy.

Easily at that. He should have won the first fight.

Half of what you are explaining is not an excuse, it really is a fact.

Fact: Mayweather DID come in overweight against Marquez

Fact: De La Hoya was old when he fought Mayweather

Fact: Mosley was past his prime when he fought Mayweather

Your last sentence is silly. Mayweather was past his prime and had one fight in three years when he fought Mosley.

It's also a fact that the weight that Mayweather came in over for the Marquez fight was a catch weight. And it's also a fact that catch weights are meant to weaken the bigger fighter. Mayweather out boxed Marquez and the way he beat him had nothing to do with weight.
It's also a fact that De La Hoya was 34 years old when he fought Mayweather which is a year younger than the age Mayweather is now. Mayweather didnt look too old in his last fight. De La Hoya had a significant size advantage against Mayweather. Shane Mosley had just come off of his best victory in years whether he was past prime or not he was one of the best fighters in the sport at that time. And Victor Ortiz tried every dirty trick in the book including trying to bail out of the fight, get dq'd and/or get Mayweather dq'd. Yet all that he was left with was another excuse that he had been sucker punched. But even ignoring all of those factors, ultimately excuses are excuses whether they are fact based or not.
