    1 And Out!!!

Hagler...1 loss so to speak, retires,M Spinks 1 loss, retires. Tito, 1 loss retires, comes back 1 loss retires again.
Prolly a few more I'm forgetting, but, whats up with one and done? Michael Spinks could have went back down to cruiserweight and done something. Felix Trinidad is still able to compete and win a title or 2. Quitters? Cowards? Opinions......

hagler has had three defeats, and was so disgusted with boxing and the system as a whole he retired from boxing and actully moved out of the us.
he was done for the most part, but hes definitly not a coward

They made their money and got out, I have no problem with that. But to call any of them or any fighter a quitter or a coward is unreasonable.

Wasnt calling them cowards by any means I know Hagler was a true warrior. Just trying to figure out why some just never fight again. Prior to his 90 second loss to Tyson, Spinks was a tremendous fighter.
At 175 he had 1 punch KO power.

not quitters, not cowards, theyre smart. so many times in boxing there have been over the hill fighters thta were once great, that have kept going and gotten beaten, sometimes even hurt for the rest of their life (i.e. muhammed ali) more ppl should look at ppl like that (i.e. rocky) and retire wen they start going down hill. thats y i have so much respect for marciano

I agree in theory that one loss shouldn't mean retirement, but in the cases of Spinks and Hagler..retirement made perfect sense. For Spinks a move to Cruiser or back to 175 is a step backwards. Hell he won the Heavyweight Championship of the world and fought Tyson. After Tyson destroyed him it looked like Tyson would be around for awhile..so a heavyweight comeback seemed unlikely. Smart move by a smart man in Spinks.

Same goes for Marvin. He got to the top of the mountain and was crushed emotionally when he lost to Leonard. Then once SRL refused the rematch..Hagler had no reason to continue. He did everything else possible..so the only possible reason for comeback would be a Leonard fight. Since Sugar wanted no part of that..career over for Hagler. In the end, it probably helped his legacy by not fighting again.
