Khan and Ortiz should fight each other...

Khan should step up as a replacement for Berto and prove himself on June 23rd. They both need replacement opponents and this would be a good match up.

    Wont happen, sorry.

    More likely:

Khan vs Morales & Ortiz vs Maidana.

No chance . Khan has a HBO contract . Vic has a Showtime one.

Wouldn't both contracts be void at this stage since the fights have been cancelled?

Nope. I don't know about Vic but Khan signed a four fight deal with HBO after the McCloskey fight and even if his cancelled fight with Peterson counted towards that contract he'd still owe them one fight

It wouldnt happen even without the HBO/Showtime stuff. GBP wants both guys along with Canelo to carry the company. They arent going to let them take eachother out when there are plenty of other guys they can fight

I believe Ortiz didn't have a multi-fight contract with Showtime...as far as I know Showtime picked up Ortiz vs Berto and that was it...and now it's null and void.

There's that too . Just putting the info out there before the inevitable "ducking" accusations start flying.

It would be a big money fight...it would be good for GBP and the fans and boxing in general. It's the type of fight that the sport needs.

Agreed. On the subject Khan is not man enough to take on Ortiz.
