This is why people shouldn't sign with Don King, they get put out to pasture...

I thought he said he had retired in 2011.

I agree... I remember reading articles where he announced his retirement like a year ago.. ¿Maybe sometime in between he said he was going to fight again?

Shocked by this. He can still fight. And fight well.

Its a shame what happened to him. Robbed by Alexander and then he dropped off the face of the earth.

Very underrated. Khan was the only man to beat him decisively, arguably the only man to beat him at all and it wasn't easy.

Can't be mad at this post..I would have to agree, but I thought Maidana beat Kotilnik tbh...

kotelnik is a highly skilled fighter and khan really did handle him

it's up there with his most impressive victories and it's a testament to how well he boxes and his physical tools as a boxer (his speed, size, and solid power at the end of his punches)
he he totally handled two very good boxers in an aging but still viable malinaggi (as evidenced by his recent performances,) and kotelnik at or around his very best.

it's a damn shame to see kotelnik go out this way. he could have made some more money and gotten another shot at a title for sure if he hadn't been put into carbon freezing

                    hibernation sickness.
