Morales vs Marquez would be nice to see..only because you got two great Mexican fighters going at it. However Morales is definitely past his prime ..much more than Marquez. so yeah I'm afraid it would hardly be competitive.

It doesn't matter what you think about Morales, ie, he's shot and all that. Marquez will always make this fight difficult to happen. Just like he's the reason why it didn't happen in the past.
He's taking him too long to decide today exactly because of the same reason in the past. He was offered $1.2 million to fight Morales several years ago and he wanted more. He didn't budge and was forced to fight in a foreign land for a measly sum. Morales has been calling him out and instead of blaming himself of what happened in the past he blames Morales. This is typical of Marquez.Comment

Marquez-Morales A NO-BRAINER For Texas Stadium; A HUGE SELL!
I've been pounding the tables for this one for months!!! Marquez and Morales both fought Pacquiao and Barerra in their prime, multiple times. But neither have fought each other. Same era, all four of them Legends, future Hall of Famers.... That would have been like Hagler and Hearns each fighting Leonard in his prime, multiple times, but never each other!!!! SERIOUSLY... Now we see the fight we WOULD HAVE missed had Hagler and Hearns never got together! It would be the same thing, should Marquez and Morales never fight. It may very well turn out to be the same kind of war between them, we saw with Hagler and Hearns. There is a little bad blood between former gym partners in Marquez and Morales. There was a lot of bad blood between Hagler and Hearns. Both came to fight, stood in the middle of the ring wingin' until one finished the other off, and I can't imagine Marquez and Morales wouldn't be the same kind of electric fight! TEXAS STADIUM should be the ONLY site for this fight. Close to the border, the massive hispanic population in Texas and nearly by New Mexico & Arizona, as well as all of Mexico. And absolute NO-BRAINER! And for kickers, have Rios fight Ortiz on the Undercard!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They hate each other.Comment

marquez style is not an awful one for an aged morales. it's youth and speed and activity that will swamp morales. marquez is a technician, just like morales.
marquez is the far greater quantity at this stage, but that still doesn't mean that his style is a better one for morales than other guys at 135-40 who are at the top
i dont see any reason at all to believe that morales wont be able to make some sort of impression on the fight.
morales is badly deteriorated, but he's still got a fighter's spirit
the drama will be there. i cant wait to see the fight. some fights are as much about theatre as they are sport.
marquez is on the top and deserves to be there. shouldn't he be fighting somebody else on the top (where morales certainly is not?)

but this fight will be more about the theatre. we get to see these two throw down. if you guys who have been watching boxing for long enough dont get a chill when those two are finally in the ring with one another i can't do much for you

2 months to go before july 14, they should have an opponent chosen by months end at the latest. Hopefully morales is training so he can make weight this time. he seems the only choice as donaire and rios fights are NOT planned to be a part of this event. only way to sell it as PPV is to have the two mexican legends go at it.Comment
