Comments Thread For: Salido Discusses The Resurgence of Juan Manuel Marquez

When I talked to WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido last month, the Sonora, Mexico native spoke on his interest in a fight with junior lightweight titlist Adrien Broner and also reflected on the pair of victories over Juan Manuel Lopez in a year’s span that catapulted him to a different kind of status in the sport.

It's crazy how Marquez is now fighting at Junior Welterweight/Welterweight and Salido is still a featherweight. If that wasn't the case, that would be one helluva rematch between the two!

He clearly says a hell of a 'rematch'. And this article talks about the first fight, so good job misreading, not comprehending, and failing.

I would like to see Salido in a rematch with Gamboa, if Gamboa is still fighting.

not sure what he meant by resurgence
last resurgence from JMM was rebounding from the John fight
he's been at the top level, or at least a titlist most of the time since
their fight was boring as hell, actually forgot about it until now
but anyway, good for Marquez getting in the action at JWW
still hoping we get that 4th Pac fight after Bradley
not sure what Salido's doing, but screw fighting Gamboa

You clearly don't understand the Salido situation as you probably didn't know who he was when he fought Guerrero and tested positive, but here is a quick recap.

In the Guerrero fight two samples of urine were take from Salido. One came back positive for Nandrolone (a steroid that may be present naturally in your system) and the second sample came back negative. Among the controversy Salido immediately took another drug test at LabCorp, and the result came back negative. So in a span of a couple of days they took three samples from Salido.

2 negative 1 positive for a steroid which can be present naturally. Prior to this Salido had never tested positive for this, nor after. So you have to give Salido here the benefit of the doubt. It wasn't like Peterson where he test positive twice within a span of a few weeks.

if the b sample was negative then why was the result overruled? theres no doping case at all if the b sample doesn't confirm the a sample thats the point of that procedure

Orlando Salido and his team did question this, and try to argue it. But to no avail. I guess when your name is Orlando Salido, you have 10 loses, and AT THAT TIME, you're seen only as a journeymen, then the commission doesn't care much to do investigations.
