LOL at overrated defense. Anyways, Floyd-Kostya was a fight that I always wanted to see.

Never seen that defense tested vs a prime a level opponent.
What I consider the standard for defense in this era is Bernard Hopkins.
That's what I call defense of the decade type ish.

Floyd has high end defense no doubt but that's on paper. Show me the film vs the prime a guys and I am in.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to Floyd during the build-up to the Gatti fight and he had a lot to say about Tszyu. Tszyu is quite underrrated on these boards but I think Floyd would've been a bad style matchup for Kostya, just like most in-fighters troubled him. Floyd was a monster at 140. I think he stops Tszyu late.

This division didn't exist when Armstrong was fighting. When it was created SRR was a middleweight. SRL and Hearns never fought at 140.

Though I fall in the minority due to Mayweather's dominance at 130, I've always said 140 was Floyd's best weight, everything there seemed perfectly balanced for him.

I agree. I think that was his peak weight, although the big money fights really weren't there. He would've been a lot for Tszyu to handle for 12 rounds. I don't think it would've seen the final bell.

U mean against a guy that never fought at 140 and came to 147 and then was cheated by 2lbs from the original weight. Next.

I used to love the way he would knock out slick fighters.

Tszyu was a genius who made it look easy...

Nice look over his career here:

lol One of the greatest moments in boxing imo. I remember everyone writing off Kostya Tszyu despite his great record and crowning Zab as the next great fighter. I knew Tszyu was gonna shut his ass down before he even got started.Tszyu was not only a great fighter he was a smart one as all the greats are and always adjusted to whatever his opponents did in the ring. One of the most underrated championS ever in my book.

I'm not talking about weight issues... I'm talking about the way Floyd slips and parries the punches like a boss
