Who cares about a pro debut? Hopkins lost his, and look what he went on to do. They really mean jack squat in the grand scheme of things.
they mean alot, they can either make or break a fighter.even Hopkins had to take some time off to rethink things after his loss...dont forget Jmm lost his 1st fight aswell.but what do these 2 fighters have in common???a strong mind everyone doesnt have that

no one lasts long in boxing without a strong mind and determination. salido was knocked out in his pro debut and had numerous other losses early in his career and he's bounced back pretty well.

My pro debut was not exactly awe inspiring but I got the job done. Alot of debuters are tight or tense and I was no different. I was tight but I was not tense, moreso just not as fluid/loose as I'd like to have been. having seen my opponent at the weigh ins I was overly confident of a victory and decided right there that I had to have a first round ko on my record, I was going to go right at him. I did and I hate watching the bout because I had an educated left hand and could have battered him with it while rolling around the ring. It is what it is but every pro debut is awe inspiring, whether you win or lose the pro fight is a much different fight than what you experience in the amatuer ring..........Rockin'
Great post with some great points. Always cool to hear the pro point of view
