almost EVERYONE, not just fans, but boxing insiders agree 50-50 split is fair.

Thtas because those people don't know the true economic variables. They want the fight and the easiest way in their minds is split the purse. If floyd is worth more, an even purse split isn't fair. I think everyone would agree that is correct.

That is something a nice commission would be able to help control. I believe that in most cases, bonuses should go to the winners in fights.

I am a huge boxing fan, a fan or Mayweather and a fan of Pacquiao. But it's hard to see two men fighting over 40 vs 50 million guaranteed. Not $50.00, not $50,000.00, but $50,000,000.00.

I think, how many student loans and people could be helped in poverty and debt with even 30million.

I can't imagine in other sports, The Yankees refusing to play the Mets because their purse isn't as big or they can't use the bats they want. Or the Spurs refusing to play the Lakers in an NBA finals because of the type of ball.

Sometimes it's surprising to see fans actually argue who should get the bigger cuts based on PPV numbers. You're the one shelling out $60-$85 regardless of who makes what.

Both will regret not having made the fight. Or maybe they won't if they can make $20-$40 million without each other.

Just my rant for the month.

now they're talking about a 40 or 50 million dollar a piece split in addition to their other fights in the interim (against lesser competition who command less of the total purse)

I am a poster that has debated purse split. I like the business end of boxing and enjoy the discussion about it. I also think there is a racial component to the discussion that I find interesting.

The african american promoter is supposed to take 50/50 which is less than what he is worth, and that is called "fair" because its an even split. The ***ish promoter has suggested 50/50 and 45/45 10 to the winner. Anything greater than 40% is more than his fighter is worth, but its called "fair" because its even.

If floyd were in Bob's position I don't believe this would be termed "fair". If Bob were in floyd's position, he wouldn't be asked to split evenly.

Just my take.

I don't know floyd's religion and I think the position people take is relative to his race, not his religion.

This is what I see based on my life experiences. If you differ so be it. My post is about Bob and floyd, not all ***s and all african americans.

Well Floyd already had made 40 mill without Pac and is slated to make 40+ against Cotto.

Just think about this......
DLH - Mayweather generated 120 mill off of 2.4 mill buys

After the ppv revenue split and the guaranteed money
DLH - 52 mill. Floyd 25 mill which equals 77 mill.

If Manny accepts 40 mill guaranteed no ppv revenue
Manny and Floyd both recieve 40 mill before the fight and ppv revenue.


Whag extra ppv money is there if the fight only generates 120 mill.

77 mill is 64% of 120 mill.

So to cover the 80 mill at the same %(64) it would have to generate 125 mill.
Which is 2,083,000 buys.

Is this fight even slated to hit 2 million buys anymore???

Its more than that mate, gate will be at around 15m, sponsors and international revenue which pac makes more on than floyd would be pretty decent as well

fact all those in and pac is getting the far short end, pac for his ppv buys 1.41m vs marquez etc and so on deserves 50-50
