  • Comments Thread For: United States Sending Strong Force To London Games

Six more American boxers have qualified for the Olympics with winning performances at a qualifying tournament in Brazil, allowing USA Boxing to send an impressive nine fighters to the London Games.

Including three boxers who qualified last year, the U.S. currently has the second-largest men's team headed to London. That's more fighters than any nation except Australia, which will send a boxer in each of the 10 men's weight classes, and more than traditional amateur powers Cuba and Russia.

If it takes a whole continent to own one single country then that's kind of pathetic, isn't it?

There's alot of talent on the USA team this time around. It's really unlikely we'll get another disaster like in Beijing.

You know damn well that USA is basically a continent in its own right

No, no it isn't. America is a nation of a continent that has almost 20 nations. People b1tch about Americas not knowing geography and global things but I think it is Europeans that seem to twist things. A lot of you act like America has this gigantic population, on par with Europe which is far from the truth. Europe has nearly 850 million people compared to Americas 300 million. The whole Europe V America thing is laughably unfair.

Back on topic though. This crop of talent looks very nice. Much more promising than 2004 or 2008. Certainly looks like a repeat of Beijing isn't going to happen. Can't wait to watch.
