      There is a difference between

'trying boxing' and start boxing as a kid day in day out...

If boxing had the same kind of appeal basketball or the NFL has in the inner cities of America, it will be very different what we see today

            it's just speculation

But come on , you can't tell that someone like Lennox would have been a good wide receiver? Or someone like Floyd Mayweather would have been a good footballer (soccer player) if they had the training from the very start?

If I had to just guess athletes...hmmm...

Reggie White used to just toss 330 lbs guys aside with one hand. He was explosive as hell too.

Lots of left tackles...Orlando Pace...Jonathon Ogden type tackles.

Hockey enforcers can probably throw and take punches pretty well.

I agree with that to a extent.

But look at Floyd . great timing, great footwork, great speed, great natural reflexes.. perfect height for a footballer mid field player..

Obviously it's just guessing, but it's just impossible to believe FLoyd Mayweather will flop if he was born in London and went on to soccer instead.

Obviously would he have had the skill set to be an 'atg' in soccer. Who knows. but his dedication and his natural abilities as a athlete puts him in good hands in terms of reaching his goal in another sport that suits his size

I dont get all overly sensitive thinking some of these guy could have been good in boxing. Boxing is for any and everyone, if you start up in the gym and are dedicated and tough enough who knows where you will go. most of them wish they could have been heavyweight champ which is why the big fights can transcend other sports. its not like guys are lining up to try, they know its the hardest profession out there
