Looking at pics of River Plate stadium, the way it's setup just doesn't seem like it's a good place to have a boxing fight. It's too big and the bleachers are too far away.

I have the same feeling too but not cause he couldn't make weight. Cause we know damn well he could, if you know what I mean. But cause he'll probably look for that WBC strip and bully Lee as he struggled with McEwan and Vera. And not have to face Martinez in September.

They should do it in Parque Roca, it is used for the Davis cup. Easily, 20.000 people can be there. Being realistic, i don't think Sergio can sell more than that number of tickets. Of course it depends on the price of the tickets.

Man, I really wish Dibella wasn't so lazy and promoted Martinez in the west coast. I was hoping Martinez vs Chavez would take place in the Staples Center.

McEwan and Lee were good friends and sparring partners. Criag very familair with Lee.

Manny Steward was not with Lee at the fight. Explains why Lee fought dumb early. Lee was loading up on the Left and was looking for the one punch KO.

I fully expect Lee to keep this a outside fight and to use his boxing skills.

People see what they want to suit their desired outcome. Lee in Vera II was a completely different fighter from the Mcewen or Vera I fights. I agree with you Lee fought terrible against Mcewen without Stewart plus the way he pressured Lee is very different from the way Chavez pressures. I'm also interested in seeing Chavez actually getting his chin tested. He has a terrible defense and Lee has good power, i wouldn't be shocked to see him stop Chavez in the first half of the fight.

A month ago i told everyone Chavez's escape plan. He is not going to make weight, he will be be stripped, he will get the decision and he is moving unbeaten to 168. And team Martinez knows it, that's why they are making all this TV promotion, they are already working for the Lee fight in Argentina, where Sergios popularity is huge right now. Forget about Chavez fight on september, is not happening.

Golovkin has fought in Panama twice i'm sure he would love to fight in Argentina and but we all know Sergio and Dibella would sooner commit suicide than make that fight.

The only reason the Lee vs Chavez Jr fight is happening is because Martinez allowed it to happen. Martinez could have just had Chavez stripped (well, theoretically) instead of letting Lee have his shot at a world title. It's very likely that the location is already in the contract that both Lee and Martinez signed recently.
