Fighter past or present that you just couldn't get the hype though they kept winning

Is there a fighter past or present that everyone always raved / raves about that you watch and just don't see what makes them special even though they may be winning fights or currently haven't fought stiff competition. The fighter can also be someone that did end up being terrible (Eddie Hopson) but only you saw it.

I'll get a lot of heat for this but Im going with Fernando Vargas. Even though he was a really good fighter and I was proven wrong, when I watched him I just didn't see it. Announcers would talk about how fast he was and I would think...."no"

They mismanaged Vargas. I never liked him, but throwing him in with Trinidad that young was ******. He was ruined in that fight. He would have probably had a better career otherwise.

I felt that way about Magic man paulie and Litzau, but they both eventually got creamed.

So true about Vargas and David Reid. Would like to know the rational behind throwing them in with Tito

A very young Vargas looked GREAT against Quartey, they thought he was ready.

Paul Williams and Manny Pac. Same reason for both they have such obvious flaws I just couldn't get with they hype both had. But they both just kept winning and Williams has fell off lately but Manny P still going strong. I couldn't get with the hype but I had to respect their results.

Naseem Hamed. He was good though, I thought he would get beat sooner though.
