If you could bring one boxer back from the past

ill just go with Chavez Sr. , the prospects of getting to see another a fight with a Mayweather is enough for me to bring Sr. back. The build-up to this fight would be classic. 2 million PPV easy. A part of me wants to see Floyd Jr vs Chavez Jr for this reason....
-he'd be at 140 or something....Chavez/Pacquiao, Chavez/Mayweather, Chavez/Cotto, Chavez/JMM, etc all mythical HOF match-ups and huge money...maybe move up in weight and whip some sense into his son as well.Comment

I don't think Ketchell could, he was a pure slugger with great stamina, no real style. Johnson could, in fact the experts say that Muhammed Ali was a very close pattern to Johnson. Johnson could do everything, including things Ali couldn't do. Still regarded as the best, or one of the very best defensive boxers of all time and was noted for his physical strength.
Choynski KO'd him in 1903, very early in his career, then whilst they were in prison together, taught him some of the finer points of boxing. The next time he lost was by KO 12 years later, in 1915, when Jess Willard KO'd him in the 26th rd, after Johnson had beaten him all around the ring for 24 rds. Badly out of shape and 37 years old. It was a 45 rder really a fight to a finish. They really wanted to get rid of Johnson.
When i was a very young kid they were still talking about Johnson and Jack Dempsey being better than Louis, figured that Johnson was better than Dempsey.Comment

I have to agree with you. His last 4 fights were against opponents with records of 24-6, 10-5, 13-13, and 6-3. Basically palookas. Not a good sign. I wonder why??Aaron Pryor...because his era at 140 ******...for the past 15-25 years it has been one of the most loaded times in the divisio
n...after his time we have had Hatton, Pacquaio, Zab Judah, Tim Bradley, Devon Alexander, Mayweather, Tszyu, Whitaker, Chavez, Meldrick Taylor, Hector Camacho, Roger ,Mayweather and a slew of fighters that would have showed us how great he really was...no doubt he was a great but he gets a little overrated at times
Also in his 40 fights he only had 2 opponents with zero losses, and one had only 16-17 fights.Comment

Not to mention both of his signature wins are over a fighter who started at 126 and spent most his career 126-130 although great in Arguello, and Cervantez who honestly was great but no one even knows how old he wasat least 35+...After those two names there is a huge fall off in competition.
people need to open their eyes if they criticize Hopkins(14 champs beat), Mayweather(17 champs beat), and Jones(19 champs) when a guy like Pryor gets so much respect and his resume aint even close to their's. Dude only beat 3 champs in 41 fights
I know he is great but would have love to see him in the 90's and later better competitionComment

I agree 100%.
Rocky would literally get inside and make them quit. People don't understand this when it comes to talking about Rocky. He made some of the toughest sons of *****es ever, mentally quit. I don't care how you want degrade those fighters. The guys he made quit, NEVER QUIT.Have to disagree...Wladmir would beat him IMO head to head, Vitali to just to much skill and size....this aint a washed up Joe Louis or past prime Ezzard Charles...The Klitschko's are large men with skill...Wlad has the technique and power, Vitali has the awkward style and toghness...A tall order for Marciano...no pun intended
I'd take a Jack Dempsey too. Honestly, just because Dempsey and Rocky are white in a group dominated by black males in a weight class people want to discredit them. Jack Dempsey would chew through the Klitchkos like he did pinetar.Comment

The welterweight Shane/Oscar from 2001 mops the floor with both Floyd/Pacman easy work. I mean easy work. Just go watch their fight. Those blows sounded like they could level buildings. The speed was monstrous, the chin, will, heart, good times.Comment
