Wasn't the Kirkland vs Angolo fight supposed to be an eliminator fight for Canelos title? Boxing fans know that the answer is yes. With that in mind one can't blame Vanes for wanting something in writing that guarantees him the title fight. Why take the fight under false pretense? He didn't say he wouldn't fight Lara, seems like he just doesn't want to be jerked around.

I have no problem with Vanes turning down this eliminator since we all know the WBC is a joke but why did he talk shit once again saying he's willing to fight anybody and he told Arum to make the Lara fight happen? Vanes wouldn't receive that much hate if he kept his mouth shut.

And he needs to understand he's not a big star so he can forget about ever fighting Canelo until he becomes one. This dude doesn't even understand that if he beats Lara and becomes Canelo's mandatory and Canelo doesn't fight him, that would boost his marketability. Writers and commentators would use that to hype him.

He needs to come back down to earth and realize he's gonna have to work his way up the old fashioned way.
